My first baseball game!

Yesterday Mommy and Daddy took me to my first baseball game! We went with my Aunt Sheri and my friend Isaac and his parents. It was his first baseball game too! The Durham Bulls were playing the Charlotte something-or-others.
We had good seats on the third base line, right in front of where the pitchers were practicing. I wore my Red Sox hat, even though neither of the teams playing had anything to do with the Red Sox. Apparently I have to be a Red Sox fan if I'm going to be able to keep living at home with Mommy and Daddy. At the beginning of the game some boy sang the national anthem. Everyone was quiet and stood still. I wanted to sing along with the boy though, so I did. I kept saying 'aaaahhhh ohhhhh aaaaaahhhh gooo aaaaa!' really loudly. Since no one else was singing, it was almost like I was singing a solo. Everyone thought it was pretty good because they were smiling and laughing at me!
I sat for most of the game in my Baby Bjorn with Daddy.

Then when I started to get really sleepy (because it was almost my bedtime!), Mommy and Daddy and I went home. Here's a picture that someone took of us standing in front of the baseball stadium.

Watch out - Mommy got a new camera!

Mommy got her new camera, so she took like, 8 million pictures of me. And since I was pretty much sitting in the same place for all of them, wearing the same outfit, they all look pretty much the same. Here's one of them:

Oh wait. Here is another one. I was having "Daddy Tummy Time", which is when I am on my tummy. On Daddy's tummy.

And here's another one. Daddy was trying to play with me, but I was watching TV. Ugly Betty, to be exact. I don't know what the heck was going on, but I could NOT STOP WATCHING.

Well, today we had a playdate at our house. Two babies came over, and they both have blogs too! One was Rosco and one was Jax. We had fun playing on the ground. Both of those babies are a little bit older than me and can do a few more things than me. Like, for example, Rosco can say 'DADADADADADADADADA' which his Mommy LOVES. I meant to take a nap before they came, but I don't know... I guess I was too excited or something, because I didn't, even though Mommy put me in my crib with my special naptime pacifier and my special naptime blankie. So I was pretty tired during the playdate and about halfway through I had just HAD ENOUGH. Luckily, Mommy knew what to do so she took me upstairs to my crib and Daddy rocked me for a few minutes to help me out. I was still asleep when Rosco and Jax left, so I didn't get to say goodbye to them. Rosco was on his way to the Beer Festival, which I went to TWICE when I was Studs (only one of the times most of you didn't know that I existed). I hope he had fun!

Anyhow, here are pictures of Rosco and Jax, so that their Mommies can download them:

Duke Gardens

This weekend it was really nice out so Mommy and Daddy took me to Duke Gardens for a picnic. It was fun! I took a nap for part of it, which you can see here:

Later, Mommy and Daddy took me out and I laid on a blanket with them. We saw a couple of other babies who were also my age! That was fun. There were a lot of other people there having picnics too. Hopefully we'll do it again soon!

First day of school!!

Today was my first day of school! Here's a picture of me in my car seat right before Mommy and I left for school:

When Mommy brought me, I was really excited because there was a lot of new stuff to look at. Mommy fed me and then she put me in a bouncer chair. It was a cool one, not like anything I have at home! The teachers were all smiling at me and saying hi, so I smiled a lot and said 'goo' back. Mommy must have had something in her eye, because she was crying. The teacher gave her a hug before she left.

I took a nap. I played in an Exersaucer, which is another cool toy that I don't have at home. I had a bottle. Then Mommy came at lunch and had her lunch with me. We hung out on the mat and played the tickle game. I was really happy to see Mommy, and I smiled a lot at her and made lots of 'goo' noises and laughed. Then she had to leave and go back to her job. Right before she left, she fed me and then I made a dirty diaper, which of course was a 'blowout'. Mommy was so excited that she got to be there to change me after the blowout. Luckily I had an extra outfit in my cubby.

Then I took another nap, played some more, went outside and swung on a big porch swing with one of the teachers, did some other stuff, and then Mommy came back to get me. My teachers told her that I was really good (I was!) and that I hardly cried at all (I didn't!) and that I was so happy and easygoing and smiled at everyone (I did!). I can't wait to go back tomorrow!

My new favorite noise

If I learn Spanish one day, I'll be really good at rolling my R's in the back of my throat. Mommy can't do it, but I'm a pro. I've been practicing constantly for the last week.

Here are two videos where you can hear me making my new favorite noise. In the first one, Mommy and I are discussing what she did that made me do the very-sad-faced-cry earlier in the day.

Incidentally, I've been exceptionally grouchy for the last two days and Mommy and Daddy don't know why, because usually I'm really good. I'm starting day care on Monday and my teachers are not going to believe it when Mommy tells them that I'm usually a happy baby!

Visiting the doctor

Today we had a trip to the doctor. Mommy said that the doctor called her and said that I was such a nice and cute baby that he wanted to see me again. I don't think he really said that, I think she was just feeding me a line. But whatever. We went to see him anyway.

The last time I went to this doctor I was a lot younger. I think I was only 10 days old. This doctor is a special kind of heart doctor. When I was born, my pediatrician noticed a little heart murmur and sent me to see this special doctor. I had an EKG and an echocardiogram, which is like an ultrasound picture of my heart. Its sort of like the ultrasound pictures that the doctors took of me when I was Studs. They found out that I have a very small hole in my heart called a ventricular septal defect. The special doctor told Mommy and Daddy that it would probably close up on its own, and even if it didn't that it was unlikely to cause me any problems. Today they did another EKG, and I was very good while they did it. And they listened really carefully to my heart. The doctor said he could still hear the murmur, so the hole is still there. But since I am still not having any trouble, he was not worried. I get to go back in January to see how it looks then. But the doctor said that other than being exceptionally cute and friendly (Okay, he didn't really say that. I'm embellishing), the only thing about me that would be different than other little boys is that I'll have to take antibiotics before I go to the dentist or have certain medical procedures, just to make sure I don't get a heart infection.

Luckily this time Mommy and Daddy knew what to expect (and were less hormonal and getting more sleep than the last time), so neither of them were crying this time. I like it better that way!

We had to wait for TWO HOURS to see the doctor after we got into the examination room. They had told Mommy and Daddy to take my clothes off, so I was sitting there naked (except I was wearing a diaper!). Daddy was cuddling with me to keep me warm, and giving me big kisses, which I love!

Oh. You'll also notice two new things over there on the side of my blog. I put a list of the things I like to do now, and I'll try to change that when I like to do new things! I also put links to other babies blogs. So far there is only one, Rosco, who is a baby I met at a Triangle Mommies playdate! I am hoping that some of my other friends (and some of my friends who aren't going to be born for a few months) will set up blogs too, and then I'll put their links up there.

Excitement!

Well, there have been a couple of exciting things going on these last few days! First of all, G-G left on Sunday to go back to Florida. What a bummer. I think she might come back to visit me in a month or so when she's flying back up to New Hampshire for the summer. That would be cool!

One thing that is exciting is that I'm sleeping in my own room now at night. Since I'm so big, I've hit the weight limit on my bassinet, so I couldn't sleep in Mommy and Daddy's room anymore. This has taken some getting used to, but mostly its been okay. Except the other night I didn't sleep in my crib, I slept in Mommy and Daddy's bed. Thats because our electricity went out! I was not sleeping well in my room because it was pitch black, which I hate! Also it was really cold in the house. So Mommy and Daddy decided that I should sleep with them. They left a flashlight on in the corner so that it wasn't so dark. I slept great, but I don't think Mommy or Daddy did. Even though they have a king sized bed, they both complained that they were sleeping on the edges of the bed because they didn't want to smoosh me! And they had to change the batteries in the flashlight three times!

Hanging out with G-G

My G-G has been here for the last two weeks. She watched me while Mommy and Daddy went to do their jobs. But she's leaving tomorrow, which is a bummer. Today we had a nice last day together. We had a big breakfast and went shopping. Tomorrow we'll take her to the airport. I'll be sure to wear one of my airplane outfits!

Slidin' on the slide

The other weekend we went to my friend Isaac's first birthday party. It was at a park that had a big playground. I've never been to a park before, but it was fun. Daddy even took me on the slide!

Whoozit

This is one of my favorite toys. Its called a 'Whoozit', although Daddy is funny and he always calls it a 'Schnoodle'.
