Baby Bug Club

My mommy always makes up songs to sing to me. There's a song called 'Buggle's Got a Dirty Diaper', a song called 'Jiggle Baby' and a song called 'Chubby Cheeks'. I think you'd just have to hear them to appreciate them. She also made up a song about the Baby Bug Club. Daddy hates it when Mommy makes up songs like this because then they get stuck in his head and he sings them to himself all day. HA!

See what my shirt says? It says 'Baby Bug Club', which I think is kinda fitting because I am the Bug, and I am also a baby. I got this outfit as a birthday present, but it was in a size that I don't wear yet. Mommy liked it so much that she went out and bought it in the size I wear now, so that I can wear it when I am small (90th percentile is hardly small though!) AND when I am bigger.

The song goes like this:

Baby Bug Club
Baby Bug Club
There's a little ladybug in the Baby Bug Club

Baby Bug Club
Baby Bug Club
There's a little caterpiller in the Baby Bug Club

Baby Bug Club
Baby Bug Club
There's a little ant in the Baby Bug Club

Baby Bug Club
Baby Bug Club
There's a little Owen bug in the Baby Bug Club!

I am 3 months old!

Hey, guess what? I turned 3 months old! Three whole months! I know, I'm totally getting old. At least my hair has all come back, so I'm not old and bald.
I did something new yesterday too. I turned over! I was on my tummy and I flipped over onto my back. Thats a good skill for me to have, because you know how much I enjoy tummy time. Not. At. All.

My G-G is coming out to visit me this weekend, and Sky King is coming too whenever the weather is right for him to fly up. G-G is going to stay home with me while Mommy and Daddy go to work. She'll be here for two weeks. Also, she'll be here for my FIRST EASTER and my FIRST MOMMY'S BIRTHDAY. And my FIRST UNCLE JIM'S BIRTHDAY too, because its almost on the same day as Mommy's birthday. What an exciting couple of weeks! I can't wait!

Cracking up

You know how I laughed at Daddy the other week? Well, I haven't done it much since then. I've just been busy working on other stuff, I guess. Anyhow, yesterday Mommy was doing some stuff in her room so she put me in my Pack and Play. I like to watch the mobile in it, but it only moves when Mommy makes it. So she did, and let me tell you - it was hilarious!

My own chair

My friend Isaac can sit up all by himself, but I can't. He lent me his special chair that will help me sit up. Its pretty exciting to sit in a chair just like Mommy and Daddy!

Tear-free tummy time

I'm getting a little better with tummy time. I don't scream quite so much as I used to because I can do more. Look at this! I can hold myself up for a bit!

Happy (belated) St. Patrick's Day!

Hey everyone! Happy St. Patrick's day! I know it was yesterday, but Mommy didn't download her pictures off the camera until today. So here's one of me and Mommy. See my cute St. Patrick's Day outfit? It says 'Kiss me, I'm Irish' on it. I'm only 1/4 Irish, though, I'm mostly British. I think you should kiss me anyhow, just because I'm cute.

Further attempts to communicate

I'm still trying to communicate with the dingy rabbit. Its not going well.

Finger lickin' good

I'm getting better at controlling the hands, so I can mostly suck on them when I want to. And now I can suck on just parts of them, instead of the whole fist at once. Mommy has caught me several times sucking on my fingers like this:

which, she says, is how my Uncle Ed used to suck on his fingers when he was a baby. Or was it my Uncle Jim? She's not sure exactly. But she does remember that she used to pull on their pinky finger while they were doing this so it would whack them in the face. She was a real nice sister.

I'm riding on an aeroplane

There are two things I like to do right now.
1. Practice standing up on Mommy or Daddy's lap
2. Go for airplane rides!

(Ok, actually three things. No, four. Also add 'cuddle' and 'eat' to my list)

Here's a picture of me getting an airplane ride from my Daddy! I laugh a lot when he does this, although its still a silent laugh. I know I laughed that one time, but I haven't done it a ton since then - still practicing!)

A chip off the old block

Lots of babies look like their Daddy when they are born. My friend Isaac looked just like his Daddy when he was a baby, and my cousin Caleb looks like his Daddy too. I don't know who I look like, but one of Mommy and Daddy's friends saw me swinging in my swing once and said 'It looks like Brian is swinging in a swing!'. I guess they thought I looked like my Daddy too. Is it the chubby cheeks? My cute smile? I don't know.

My daddy wears glasses to help him see better. I thought I might look even more like him if I wore them too, so I tried his on. Well? What do you think?

New favorite toy

Mommy put a new toy on my activity mat this morning. It makes dinging noises when I hit it. I think it is trying to talk to me! I tried to tell it 'Goo. Ah-goo ah-boo', but it just kept talking back to me in this dingy language that I didn't understand. I kept hitting it, but that didn't help. I guess I'll keep trying to communicate with it.

The happiest baby on the block

I love it when people do funny things. For example, my Mommy is pretty funny. She holds up a burp rag and her face disappears, and then all of a sudden she comes back!! And says 'Peek-a-boo!'. I have a good time when she does that, mostly because she looks pretty ridiculous.

My Grandad is funny too. This morning Mommy was holding me and Grandad was standing behind her talking to me. Since he was so funny, I kept smiling at him and everyone seemed to like that.

I'm 2 months old!

I can hardly believe this myself, but it has been TWO WHOLE MONTHS since I was Studs. I know! I had my two month doctors appointment on Wednesday, and I am 24 inches long and 12 pounds, 5.5 ounces. That means I am in the 90th (!) percentile for height, and the 75th percentile for weight. Apparently I take after my Daddy, because Mommy is kinda short.

Anyhow, this week has been a busy one! My Nan and Grandad are still here. They go for lots of walks with me and Mommy and Daddy. Because they've been here to help Daddy out, Mommy has left me with them a few times. She went to get a pedicure once, and she went to Daddy's work to do some experiments. I wish she'd stop leaving me because I get all fussy when she's gone! Unfortunately, I think that pretty soon Mommy is going to start going to work EVERY DAY. I don't know what I'll do then!

One day Mommy took me with her when she went somewhere. We went to a lunch playdate with the Triangle Mommies group. Okay, there isn't really a whole lot of playing going on at these playdates - not yet! But it was a lot of fun to see all the other babies, and I guess Mommy liked meeting the other mommies too!

Now that I'm so big, I'm outgrowing all of my old clothes and ready to wear some of my 3-6 month size clothes. So yesterday, Mommy dressed me up and we all went for a walk. Can you see too that my hair is growing back in? I don't look bald anymore. But I'm starting to get cradle cap, and I heard that that can make my hair fall out too. Its hard being a baby!

The baby whisperer

My Nan and Grandad are visiting me right now from England. I don't know what it is about my Grandad, but he can put me to sleep in 10 seconds flat. Its like magic! I think I should rent him out.
